ADMISSIONS COORDINATOR & ADMINISTRATIVE ASSITANT

Lani began her involvement with Birches School eight years ago when her grandson attended the school, and she happily remains involved in a new role with Birches for the third year. Lani brings skills honed by her twenty-five years of teaching in the Newton Public Schools. During that time, Lani worked with other educators to develop curriculum units in English/Social Studies that were used throughout the city.  She also draws upon her experiences as a children’s librarian and branch director in both the Cambridge and Watertown public library systems. Helping with admissions and assisting the Birches administrative team is rewarding to her, as is her interaction with the students, teachers and families of the larger community. Lani holds a B.A. in History and a Master’s degree in Library Science along with certifications in areas of education.
