Community is at the heart of what makes Birches such a special place for our families. Involvement from parents, caregivers, and students is a big part of what keeps our community vibrant. At an intentionally small school, Birches families have the opportunity to know one another and support each other.

The Birches School Family Organization (BFO) is a volunteer group organized to engage in community building by providing opportunities for all parents/families to be involved in Birches through a variety of events throughout the year, as well as facilitating volunteer opportunities.  Through annual traditions like the Back to School Potluck, Fall and Spring Gear Swaps, and end of school picnic in Pierce Park, the BFO helps to bring all Birches families together. There are many ways for parents and guardians to be involved whether as a classroom representative, member of the DEI Steering Committee, or volunteer coordinator for some of our beloved events. The BFO helps strengthen the important connection between home and school and is an essential core of our Birches community.

The Birches Family Organization includes all parents and caregivers.
