A donation to our 2024-25 Annual Fund Campaign directly supports students’ rigorous project-based academics, thoughtful hands-on explorations, and meaningful interactions with the natural world around us.
As a non-profit independent school, the Birches community relies on more than tuition to educate students. Each year, we ask trustees, families, faculty, and friends to make tax-deductible donations to our annual fund to help fill the gap between tuition and the actual cost of educating students. Regardless of size, every gift reflects the bond of our small, but mighty Birches community.

With 39% of students benefiting from tuition support, we ensure access to a Birches education for a diverse socio-economic community. Contributions also make possible the maintenance of our unique campus and support our commitment to learning in harmony with the natural world.

Support for Birches School, through volunteering, giving, and connecting, makes us the vibrant community we are today. Our robust nature-based program, amazing teachers, acres of woodlands, and hands-on, integrated learning set Birches apart. As we move into our second decade, we rely on the generosity of our current and past families, friends, grandparents, trustees and community partners to fulfill our unique mission.
Birches School strives to be an accessible community and our tuition is lower than the median for Boston-area progressive schools. Because tuition revenues cover only a portion of the school’s operating costs, fundraising is crucial to the sustainability and growth of our community.
