FLORENTIEN DE RUITER, M.A.T.
K/1 TEACHER

Florentien loves teaching the younger students at Birches! She received both her B.A.and M.A.T. from Tufts University and has been working with young kids ever since. She began her teaching career in the Acton Public Schools, teaching kindergarten for 9 years. There she learned how to deeply incorporate art into the classroom curriculum. More recently, she has led workshops for other educators on how to teach math outdoors. During her free time, Florentien loves reading, hiking and running. She also loves spending time with her husband and two teenagers. Her daughter graduated from Birches in 2021.
