Aletta is a financial planning professional with a rich background in both science and technology. She grew up in Sudbury and attended Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School before earning a degree in Planetary Science from MIT, followed by a Master’s in Astronomy and Astrophysics from the University of Michigan, where she led the community outreach program. After her studies, Aletta worked as a Technical Program Manager at Akamai Technologies, focusing on operations and compliance programs. Her interest in financial economics led Aletta to develop expertise in equity compensation and financial planning and to start her own business. Eos Financial Planning offers life planning and investment advisory services to entrepreneurs, executives, and engineers in the tech industry, with a niche working with queer and trans professionals and their families. Aletta is an Investment Advisor and an IRS Enrolled Agent. She has served as Treasurer for the First Baptist Church in Newton, co-Treasurer of the Hardy School PTO, and has volunteered with the IRS’ VITA program, preparing low-income tax returns since 2018. In her free time Aletta loves to sail; she spent a semester in college aboard a tall ship. Since the end of Covid she’s taken up the sport of curling at Broomstones in Wayland. Aletta lives in Arlington with her husband and two sons, one of whom is a sixth-grader at Birches School. Aletta is excited to contribute to the Birches community, particularly through her work on the finance committee.
